Seattle Council Coast Guard Update

We are excited to invite you to the Seattle Council Coast Guard Update, to be held virtually on June 8th at 7pm.

More than 3,000 active duty and reserve Coast Guard members, civilian employees, and Coast Guard Auxiliarists are stationed in the Pacific Northwest as part of Coast Guard District 13. With 21 cutters, 132 boats and 11 aircraft, they are out every day conducting search and rescue, patrolling coast, sound, and ocean to enforce safety and fisheries regulations, conducting safety and compliance inspections and exams on commercial vessels and waterfront facilities, and protecting our nation's strategic defense and critical infrastructure. They also support two high endurance cutters, three medium endurance cutters, two icebreakers, a port security unit, a maritime safety and security team, and Coast Guard Base Seattle.

Rear Admiral Jack Vogt, Commander, Coast Guard District 13, will update us on the current state of the Coast Guard in our region and answer audience questions. The program will also feature local Coast Guard units adopted by the Seattle Council.

This free evening event is a wonderful opportunity to invite colleagues and friends to learn more about Navy League Seattle and its work to support our Sea Services. If you know others who have an interest in our mission and might consider joining the Seattle Council, please invite them.
