Fatherhood and Gender-Based Violence

In honor of Father's Day, let's engage in a rich, authentic, diverse and intentional dialogue about fatherhood, gender norms and how they relate to healthy masculinity. This session will be led by fatherhood practiitioners whowill host dialogue and respond to your partipcation about fatherhood and gendered-based violence. 

The Courageous Conversation will be faciliated by Russ Funk, a long time educator and community organizer promoing healthy masculinities, equity, diversity and justice. Funk focues on creating systlems-level changes with commuities, campuses and organizations to mobilzie men to help end violence against women.

If you are a practitioner, counselor or social worker in fatherhood, domestic violence, and/or sexual violence, this webinar is for you. To prepare for the webinar, please respond to the following questions. 

  • What barriers or challenges has your fatherhood program faced incorporating domestic violence prevention, healthy mascualinity and gender norms?   (if applicable)  
  •                                            
  • What has your sexual violence/domestic violence agency done to promte healthy fatherhood? (if applicable)

  • What do you think a fatherhood program does and what is their role and purpose in the community?
