The Flowing River: Ritual for Grief Release

Join us at Darling Hill Farm for this interactive in person workshop, led by Angelica Palmer of Cherry Valley. We will work towards healing our common grief and fostering a sense of safety and community through movement, drumming and song.

Grief is a river; it flows from a deep place and only knows rest when it reaches the ocean. If it is dammed up, blocked with a giant boulder of fear or judgement, the pressure that builds affects every other part of you. When given a safe and supported place, we can slowly chip away at our boulders and dams and let our grief flow out and our bodies heal.

Inspired by the grief rituals of the Dagara tribe of Burkina Faso and the work of Sobonfu Somé and Zahava Griss, we come together through drums, song and movement, supporting each other’s grieving process as we strengthen the collective.

Participants may be dealing with personal or general issues. All welcome. Size is limited. Pre-enrollment required.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, doors close at 4pm.

If you would like to stay after we will hold a pot luck dinner, so bring a dish to pass. Swimming available at the pond!

Register for only this class for $25 or $20 for ISD Members,
