Whilamut Restoration Day!
It's Stewardship Day at the Willamette River Festival!
Choose between two projects in Eugene or Springfield, and help make a difference for #OurWillamette!
- Alton Baker Park Whilamut Natural Area: Join City of Eugene Parks & Open Spaces and Nearby Nature to mulch native trees in the riparian areas near Knickerbocker Bridge in the Whilamut Natural Area. Meet at the Native Plant Nursery in Alton Baker Park at 9AM (follow the park entry road past the parking areas and community gardens).
- Eastgate Woodlands: Want to feel some real satifaction and help keep our riparian area trees healthy by ridding them of English ivy? Join Willamalane Parks and Recreation District to help “free the trees” in the Eastgate Woodlands, meeting at Aspen Street boat ramp at 9AM - just drive south on Aspen, past Heron Playground and follow the road to the boat ramp and trail head.
Please plan to arrive early early if possible. Bring your enthusiasm and your own to-go coffee cup, wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather ...and for getting dirty! We'll supply the tools, gloves, and coffee to get you going!
