Boots on the Ground: Employment Consultant Community of Practice Seminar
In collaboration with the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Administration, Wise is pleased to announce the Boots on the Ground: Employment Consultant Community of Practice! Comprised of two sessions per week, this Community of Practice will offer hands on examples and opportunities to see innovative direct service from employment providers across the State of Washington. Tuesday seminars will occur each week from 9:30 to 11:30am PST, and Friday workshops will provide follow up conversation and activities based on the Tuesday content from 9:30 to 10:30am PST. These events are open to all and free of charge.
*Attending the Tuesday seminar is not required in order to participate in Friday's workshop, although you are encouraged to do so. Recordings of Tuesday's events will be made available the following Wednesday to those who could not attend. Register for the Friday workshop that corresponds with this event by visiting to the Wise Calendar (scheduled for Friday of that same week).

Please join us on Tuesday, June 15 for our seminar, "The Discovery Binder: A Hands-On Approach to Remote Work" with The Arc of Spokane.
In these difficult times, we’ve all had to come up with creative solutions to the pervasive problems we face. In this webinar, you will learn all about an innovative invention by The Arc of Spokane called the “Discovery Binder”. We will provide you with the tools and the know-how, but it is ultimately up to you how to use them when you decide to build the binder for your clients. Grab your virtual arts and crafts kit and come get crafty with us!
- To show how flexible and creative this tool is – the sky is truly the limit with where you can go in designing this binder!
- Demonstrate its effectiveness in merging the safety of remote work with the personability of face-to-face work.
- The binder’s role in extrapolating upon the Discovery Report in SETWorks – helping to improve the service anyone who sees it can provide to the client.

Meet the Panel:
Luke Tolley
Luke Tolley has been with The Arc of Spokane for 8 years, serving as Director of Community Engaged Programs for The Arc of Spokane. He oversees The Arc’s Supported Employment, Community Inclusion, Transition & Young Adult Programs and Community Center. Luke is a certified person-centered planner and worked with Spokane County’s Ignite and HireAbility teams. A lifelong Spokane resident, Luke is also a longtime community organizer, serving for over a decade in Spokane’s Community Assembly and leading various neighborhood planning, leadership, and business development efforts. He is motivated to share what he has learned by a profound belief in the power of inclusion, community and wanting to leave a better community for his 6-year-old-daughter.
Vanessa Prendiville
Vanessa Prendiville has been with The Arc of Spokane for almost 2 years as the Supported Employment Program Manager. She believes in creativity, refining processes, and reaching out to utilize different resources. She has lived all over the country recently moving from Virginia where she got her MBA while working at the veterinary school her husband was attending. We welcomed our daughter into the world in the last year and are relearning how to include her in the things we love to do.
Austin Storseth
Austin has been an Employment Specialist for The Arc of Spokane for only three months - making him very green to the company and this field of work. He works primarily with Job Foundations and School to Work clients and loves being a part of the initial steps in his clients’ vocational journey. He is currently working towards a Counselling Psychology degree and is also enrolled in an online Hellenistic Astrology program for fun! When he isn’t working or studying, he is taking care of his grandmother and playing with his Shih Tzu-Maltese dog named Brahma.
