PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

To provide an understanding of the various types of struck-by hazards which exist in general industry due to limited clearances, storage issues, miscellaneous hazards, moving machinery/supplies/equipment, vehicular incidents and stationary objects. 

OBJECTIVES

After viewing this presentation an individual will be able to:

• Understand the definition and application of struck-by hazards during different jobs/tasks within general industry. 
• Describe potential struck-by hazards based on situations found on worksites. 
• Describe areas inspected prior to and during work operations to determine potential struck-by hazards and the means to eliminate them.
• Understand the need to plan against struck-by incidents by proper inspection and to properly train co-workers to recognize conditions which may create the situation. 
• Implement the proper methods to eliminate struck-by hazards.
