Norm Keith
Norm Keith is a management-side employment, labour lawyer, most notably he is one of the leading Occupational Health and Safety (“OHS”) lawyers in Canada. Additionally, Norm represents businesses in regulatory and white-collar crime investigations. He has successfully defended more than 1,000 OHS regulatory, criminal and related charges.
Norm’s advisory practice includes executive compensation, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, HR policies, COVID-19 vaccine policies, ethical practices, fraud prevention, workers compensation claims management. Norm’s litigation practice includes wrongful dismissal, restrictive covenants, fraud recovery, whistle-blower complaints, work refusals, human rights claims, OHS prosecutions, labour arbitrations, OLRB hearings, and fiduciary duty lawsuits.
Norm has extensive experience in the complex subjects of alcohol & drugs and harassment & violence in the workplace.
Michael Church
As senior counsel at CaleyWray, Michael consistently goes the extra mile for the clients he represents, fearlessly pursuing and protecting their rights and interests. With more than 35 years of labour law experience and many precedent-setting cases under his belt, Michael continues to be ranked by his peers as one of the pre-eminent union side labour lawyers in Canada.
Honest and approachable, he provides effective representation to unions in complex cases, including acting as counsel on many of the leading decisions on drug and alcohol testing in the transportation industry such as CEP v Imperial Oil Limited 2009 ONCA 420, CAW-Canada v CN Railway, [2000] 95 L.A.C. (4th) 341, CEP Local 593 v Petro-Canada Lubricants Centre, [2009] 186 L.A.C. (4th) 424, and Dupont Canada Inc. v CEP Local 28-0 (2002) 105 L.A.C. (4th) 299. Julian Toy H.S.C. Substance Abuse Professional
Julian drank alcohol and used drugs daily for 16 years, from ages 12 to 28. Some drugs he used were cocaine, crack, opium, hash, pot, LSD and prescription narcotics. He was a CWB certified welder and operated equipment including saws, forklifts and overhead cranes while under the influence of substances undetected.
Julian has been in 12 Step Recovery (i.e., clean and sober from alcohol and drug addiction) since July 13th, 2000.
In 2004 Julian graduated the Human Services Counseling program at George Brown College, majoring in addictions with a minor in mental health.
Below is a brief synopsis of Julian's relevant experience
Julian currently works full time as a teaching assistant in the ASD program at a high school in Peel.
Since 2009, he’s been in private practice as a Substance Abuse Professional, performing SAP assessments and training companies to identify, prepare and intervene with employees who aren’t Fit for Duty.
Julian is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
