Join the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Spreeha Foundation for Part 2 to the introduction to disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response & recovery in the context of safer shelter practices in Bangladesh.

This training is made possible by funding from USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance.

The training will include:

  • Understanding and promoting Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and "Build Back Safer" practices which address humanitarian and resilient shelter needs
  • Exploring how the needs of communities in Bangladesh can be more effectively met through diaspora engagement
  • Engaging diasporas for greater engagement with U.S.-Bangladeshi diaspora members around Build Back Safer programs and coordination mechanism
This iteration will also feature special guest speaker Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed, Associate Professor of Construction Management/Disaster Resilience at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
