2021 VIRTUAL WORKSHOP - Research Challenge/Science Fair Bootcamp

The content will cover all ISEF Rules, Forms and when to complete each formas well as providing participants with an understanding of how to do a thorough protocol review & provide constructive feedback to students. Also includes training for schools that wish to field their own Scientific Review Committee (SRC)/Institutional Review Board (IRB) in order to be able to review student research protocols.

Participants will engage in small groups and complete activities to apply content learned.  There is also a module within the training that will introduce the relationship of CCSS and NGSS standards to project-based, independent student research/engineering design projects.

The workshop is facilitated by Karen Kinsman and Erin Garcia from the UNM STEM-H Center who have about 30 years of combined experience as ISEF-affiliated fair management.

Open to ANYONE from an ISEF affiliated "science fair"! However, all participants will need to consult with their regional fair director to ensure clarity on the rules & deadlines specific to their regional competition.

Student researchers (grades 8-12) are welcome to register, however priority will be given to teachers, compeition coordinators, and SRC/IRB members.
