Rebuilding Our Institutions: Resisting Illiberalism & Unifying Americans

Join us Wednesday, September 29th at 6:00 PM for Pioneer Institute's 2021 Lovett C. Peters Lecture and Annual Dinner, Rebuilding Our Institutions: Resisting Illiberalism & Unifying Americans.

This year we will honor journalist and author Bari Weiss, and return to in-person conversations over dinner among Pioneer’s wide community of supporters from the realms of finance, bioscience, management, healthcare, law, media, and more.

Tickets are $250 each and support Pioneer's research and advocacy. If you would like to be a part of this event, be sure to reserve your seat now, as it is first-come, first-served—and remember: there is the option to enhance your support of Pioneer by sponsoring a table or making a leadership gift toward the evening. Once you sign up, we will send you everything you need to attend!

As you likely know, Weiss resigned her role as an opinion editor at The New York Times last year, citing an “illiberal environment” in which “self-censorship has become the norm.” She will visit the Institute as this year’s keynote speaker, analyzing the ways that ideology is too often suppressing thoughtful discourse in American life—from the halls of our private and public schools, universities, and companies to the pages and Twitter accounts of major media outlets. In her book, How to Fight Anti-Semitism, Weiss helps expose a related phenomenon—the alarming rise of anti-Semitism across the U.S.—and what we can do to ameliorate it.

Named for Pioneer’s founder and long-time chairman, Lovett C. “Pete” Peters, the annual Peters Lecture is one of our most memorable events each year. Given the gravity of our present national moment—in politics, policy, culture, and across our institutions—we believe Weiss’s remarks will be especially salient and very much hope you will attend, donate, and invite friends and colleagues to join you
