Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Update

The Intersection Between Nutrition and Fracture Care

The Slocum Research & Education Foundation in joint providership with Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is invites physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to attend our 29th Annual Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Update, an in-person event hosted at the Slocum Center on December 4, 2021. Masks and COVID vaccination required for attendance.

 At the conclusion of this conference participants will be able to:

  • Perform a muscuoloskeletal exam on the upper and lower extremities
  • Identify key nutrients and dietary conditions that influence musculoskeletal health and healing after injury
  • Differentiate between fracture care treatment opportunities in a primary care setting and conditions requiring orthopedic referral

9:00 - 10:45    Musculoskeletal Break Out Exam Rotations

Participants rotate through exam stations (20 minutes each).

11:00 - 12:30 Fracture Case Presentations & Discussion 

Common fracture conditions, differential diagnoses and treatment. Interactive Q & A is encouraged.

Cost of Attendance:  The cost of attendance is $75.00 for MD/DO and $60.00 for non-MD/DO. Early bird discounts in October. No same day registration is available; advance registration is required. Refunds are available up until one day prior to the event (minus a $5.00 processing fee). No refunds available on or after November 30, 2021.
