Supported Employment Retention: A New Look at Natural Supports

Compass Career Solutions

Please join us on Friday, July 23 for our workshop, "Supported Employment Retention: A New Look at Natural Supports" with Compass Career Solutions.

True inclusivity is involvement with all aspects of the work experience, not just showing up for a job. Too often in supported employment we work to find someone a job, but then neglect the work of helping the employee retain and flourish within their job. One key to job retention is employee engagement. This presentation will offer ways for an Employment Consultant to help the supported employee navigate their way through engaging with other employees and being part of the work culture and environment.
Learning Objectives:
  • ·    Participants will understand the connection between employee engagement and employment retention in supported employment

  •      Participants will discover ideas for employee engagement in a supported employment setting

·          Time management basics

·          Calendar/note options electronic to paper

·       Maximize your participant hours by efficiently planning your time

*Supported employment is rooted in the firm belief that all people deserve respect, dignity, and self-determination. Here at Wise, we are committed to standing up for and embracing positive changes in policies and practices to stamp out oppression and discrimination in our institutions and systems. We are focused on our mission of inclusion and equitable employment for people with disabilities. With this in mind, we ask that all participants extend respect, humility and grace during our events. We strive to create a learning platform where we all leave with new ways of thinking, doing and moving supported employment forward.
