Evaluation, Diagnosis, and
Management of TMD Patients 

Course Description:
The lecture will cover the evaluation, diagnosis and management of TMD. The lecture will provide anoverview of non-surgical management as well as surgical patient selection and the surgical treatmentoptions for patients with TMD.

Learning Objectives:
1. Summarize the process for the evaluation and diagnosis of TMD patients
2. Identify 1-2 non-surgical treatment options and distinguish which are effective and appropriate
3. Identify a surgical patient case and know when to refer for surgical evaluation
4. Describe 1-2 surgical treatments available for TMD patients

Speaker Information:
Dr. Warburton trained in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the United Kingdom and completed his training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, USA. He earned his dental surgery and medical degrees from Manchester University in the United Kingdom, where he obtained numerous academic honors and awards including the Alpha Omega Prize for Clinical Excellence. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In addition to his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, he has completed a Fellowship in Clinical Research at the National Institutes of Health and has numerous publications. He holds a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and he is the Chief of Maxillofacial Trauma at Sinai Hospital. He is adjunct associate professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyappetham (Amrita University). He is Chair of theTMJ section of SORG North America. He is one of 2 Clinical Consultants for Stryker TMJ Concepts. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Maryland Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons. Dr. Warburton's clinical interests include facial dental implantology, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and the surgical management of temporomandibular joint disease.

Evaluation and Certificate:
The webinar system will track your attendance for the program day. You are expected to attend 90% of the content hour portions (3.0 hours) of the day in order to receive credit. Any attendee who falls below the 90% threshold for attendance will not receive credit for the training. Attendees are expected to stay logged in until the conclusion of the webinar in order to receive the access code needed to complete the evaluation and receive credit for the day. Please plan to log-in to the training using a computer; calling into the training may result is a lower attendance score.

An evaluation will be emailed to attendees who completed the training within two business days of the program’s completion. The access code announced at the conclusion of the day will be needed in order to complete the evaluation. Certificates will generate upon submission of that evaluation. CHEP does not and will not issue partial credit certificates.
