New to Pickling? Ever made Preserves? Whether you’re a prepper, a new homesteader, or a backyard gardener this class is for you!
Our instructors will provide all necessary items including the produce to conduct this hands-on 3-hour event allowing participants to make their own pickles and preserves. Learn techniques to jar your own pickles and other techniques to jar preserves.
Pickling is the process of preserving edible products in a solution such as vinegar or salt (brine). This can include dill pickles, onions, relish or any food that is preserved with an acid.
Preserves refer to fruit or vegetables that have been canned or jarred for long term storage. This method is commonly done with boiling water and pressure canning to make jams and jellies.
