                                                         NJVAA Webinar:

Domestic Violence and Religion:                Supporting Survivors of Faith on Campus

Faith can be a great healer or deepen the wounds of a victim creating a secondary spiritual trauma further isolating survivors. Abusers can also use religious doctrines as a way to manipulate victims. This webinar addresses the pitfalls of religious institutions and doctrine and highlights the need to create trauma-informed approaches that embrace religion and spirituality. We will also address how survivors wrestle with their own faith and spirituality as they recover and how victim advocates can support them.
