Assertiveness for Younger Managers - Webinar (10/19/21)

Maybe those who report to you are slacking off and you are hesitant to deal with it. Maybe they’re older than you – or younger – or they know you’re hesitant – or…you’d simply rather not deal with it. But you know being assertive is a positive thing to do, even if it doesn’t feel great “in the moment.”

Or maybe the issue is that you struggle to speak up in meetings – or with upper management – or even with your coworkers.

You get the picture – the need for assertiveness is all around us. Moving through today’s world, no matter what our position is in the workplace, learning to be assertive can be a valuable skill.

Amid our daily activities, it’s easy (or should I say “easier”??) to just let things go, which is occasionally the best choice. But the situation rarely stays easy if we avoid it. We can contribute to tension in our workplace, low morale, a poor public image, and lots of other problem areas we would all rather avert. Throw in the idea of losing the respect and trust of others and we know it’s in our best interest to get better at asserting ourselves.

Assertiveness can help us be more confident in our daily interactions. And here’s a secret you may not have considered; once we’ve developed our assertiveness, it can even relieve some of the stress in our lives!
