When conducting genealogical research, sometimes a family's most treasured document or greatest clues can be found in repositories you may not have considered. Join us for an informative discussion on utilizing different types of archives and how they can be woven together to tell a more complete picture.

About The speakers

 D. Joshua Taylor, President of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, is a nationally known and recognized genealogical author, lecturer, and researcher. Joshua is deeply passionate about family history, is a frequent speaker at family history events across the globe, and hosts the popular PBS series, Genealogy Roadshow.

Thomas J. Ruller has held the position of New York State Archivist since 2015. He has been an active professional and is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles and reviews on the use of technology in Archives and the preservation of records in electronic form.   He has been a consultant for several State governments and other organizations focusing on electronic records management and preservation.
