Effects of the Pandemic on
Women in the Workplace

Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 8:30am (registration)

Hosted by

Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore
Program Activity Center
127 Yellow Brook Rd., Farmingdale, NJ

Presented by MODC's Nonprofit Committee

The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on the workforce, and data shows a disproportionate impact on women. According to a study by McKinsey, one in four women are considering leaving the workforce, or downshifting their careers. Women are feeling tremendous pressure, and their experiences at home, work and with their health have all been negatively affected.

What steps can employers take to help mitigate this crisis and make a positive impact? Join us for an in-depth discussion on the critical areas of recruitment, retention, return, and recovery:

  • How can employers pivot their business model to attract female workers?
  • What can employers do to prevent “burnout” by employees who have been overworked and might consider leaving their employment?
  • How are employers dealing with the reality of “mental health issues” caused by the pandemic?

Panelists:

  • Eveline Brownstein, President, Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources
  • Tara Chalakani, PsyD, Chief of Quality & Health Integration, Preferred Behavioral Health Group
  • Michele Siekerka, President & CEO, New Jersey Business & Industry Association

Facilitator:

  • Frances Keane, VP & Chief Human Resource Manager, CentraState Healthcare System
