Seminar: “Defending Your Decisions; Preparing for Post COVID           Audits”

COVID-19 has brought many changes to the long-term care industry. One of the most disputed regulations was the introduction of the CMS 1135 Waiver to the Medicare program. This sent some providers scrambling for help, deciding how to interpret those waivers and appropriately utilize their ordinances. CMS has warned that use of the 100-day benefit extension would be subject to post pay auditing. Join us for a session that will review high risk areas for compliance, the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to skilled care documentation, and how to support a request for review.

Speaker: Maureen McCarthy, RN, BS RAC-MT, QCP-MT, DNS-MT, RAC-MTA President/CEO Celtic Consulting

Seminar: “Aligning your teams and empowering everyone to improve quality of care and quality of life”

This highly interactive seminar is designed to help Healthcare Administrators take their QAPI programs, facility culture, and performance to new heights. Participants will be taken on a journey of self-reflection, classroom style learning, dialogue and collaboration with peers, and hands on practical application. This program will not only provide a ‘refresher’ on some of the basic principles and tools used in strategic planning and root cause problem solving but will also share best practices used to engage staff in everyday excellence. Best practices that have been applied in the smallest of companies all the way to the Fortune 100, and directly tied to the principles that QAPI was founded on. The content will help administrators breathe new life into their facility and ensure its doors remain open for many years to come.

Speaker: Robert Bousquet, Owner-Principal Consultant Climb LLC - nearly 20 years of experience leading business improvement initiatives, programs, and company-wide transformation efforts within multiple Fortune 100 companies. Seminar: “Redesigning Tomorrow Together; A Focus on the Next          Normal”

The COVID 19 Pandemic accelerated many of the initiatives already being considered across the patient care continuum and in the senior services industry. 2020 saw the implementation of the long awaited 3-day waiver, the proliferation of telehealth services, the rise of remote monitoring systems, and acceleration of hospital-at-home and SNF-at-home models of service delivery. 2021 and beyond offer even greater promise of innovation as healthcare consumers demand alternatives in service delivery. This session will review the changes we have already seen manifested, how early adopters are harnessing technology and changes in federal regulation to implement innovation, and the barriers that remain to further evolution. Participants will be challenged to consider their own perspectives on where and how services should be delivered, contemplate the barriers in their local markets to innovation, and gain insight into how they might help their organizations to move forward, creating or expanding new service lines with an increased focus on HCBS deliverables even while they look to keep existing, more traditional deliverables profitable.

Speaker: Elisa Bovee, MS OTR/L Health Pro Heritage, Vice President of Clinical Strategies has worked in the health care environment for 25+ years. Implementing Census + Network development advancements, PDPM methodologies, and serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Chase Consulting under contract with CMS.
