Spiritual Abuse and the Importance of the Spiritual Community in the Survivor's Life

Tuesday, November 16, 2021

2:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. EST

Survivors of faith frequently seek help in their faith communities when experiencing domestic violence. Yet, they are often met with a wall of silence and shame. In this conversation, you will learn to recognize spiritual abuse and understand why spirituality and spiritual communities play a significant role in the life of a survivor. Practical strategies for advocates and helping professionals will be discussed.

Trainer: Darlene Hills-Clinkscale, M.S., Ed. is a primary prevention advocate and president of Stop It Before It Starts (SIBS). She is a leader in Ohio, educating faith-based communities about best practices for supporting survivors of domestic violence. Darlene works extensively as a trainer and facilitator and is a former SARNCO advocate with Ohio Health.

Deadline to Register: Sunday, November 14, 2021

American Sign Language interpreters will be available.

Upon registering, you should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. If you have not, please contact us at training@odvn.org.
