Andrew will quantify technology risk in the form of Technology, Integration, and Manufacturing Readiness levels, discuss acceptable levels of risk for business unit adoption of new technologies, and delve into the dedicated organizations and teams that are mandated to bridge the “Technology Valley of Death."


Andrew Murrell, CSEP, is the 2021 INCOSE-LA Board of Directors Secretary, and a Northrop Grumman Principal Systems Engineer maturing next generation Earth Orbiting Infrared payloads. He has over a decade of experience in optical, electro-mechanical actuation systems, and research and development.  He spent a considerable amount of his career at Rockwell Collins and Eaton Aerospace working on electro-mechanical actuation systems for civilian and military air transport and has numerous patents to his name. 

Andrew created an INCOSE speaker meeting host site at Rockwell Collins Irvine, hosted two SEP prep courses, and founded the Rockwell Collins Electro-Mechanical Systems Community of Practice, He received the 2017 INCOSE-LA President's award for support expanding the INCOSE SEP program in INCOSE-LA, and a 2019 Service award.  In addition, Andrew’s support was instrumental in Safran Electronics and Defense (business unit acquisition from Rockwell Collins) becoming an INCOSE CAB member in 2020. 

Andrew holds a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is certified as an INCOSE CSEP and as a Project Manager from University of California, Irvine in 2020.
