Halloween Spooktacular CAR-nival Drive-thru (Coachella Valley)

Halloween is a particular challenging time for families affected by Autism. Sensory and social issues (lighting, noise, costumes, and suitable social cues) can hinder families from enjoying and participating in regular Halloween community activities and events. Our Halloween Spooktacular event gives children and individuals with Autism and their siblings the opportunity to participate in a fun and special sensory sensitive Halloween experience in a safe and supportive environment our families can feel comfortable in. 

This year’s Halloween Spooktacular CAR-nival event will be a COVID safe drive-thru experience featuring carnival games, trick-or-treat stations, a pumpkin patch, character appearances, and a photo opportunity. Children and families will drive from booth to booth in our Trick-or –Treat Lane/Resource Fair, playing games, and receiving information on services. This is a fun, safe alternative to nighttime trick or treating, particularly for those with sensory issues. It is also a great activity for children to participate in to help improve their language and social skills. Non-verbal children will receive laminated trick-or-treat cards to present at each booth.
