Beyond the Binary: Redirecting the good/bad narrative in the classroom

Friday, December 10th, 2021

Young children categorize things automatically to help them learn. But, unless they have an intentional adult present, this categorization can sometimes create "binaries" filled with bias, like "good" and "bad," "right" and "wrong." These binaries can impact children's ability to celebrate diversity, understand the nuances of being human, and build their own self-image. This workshop will explore ways that educators can use interactions and materials to dismantle harmful binaries in the classroom and beyond.

Trainer: Rachel Franz, Twig & Thread Consulting
Location: Virtual (Zoom link will be sent prior to training date)
