This event will also be recognized at DBIA-HR and SAME-HR as our holiday event for the 2021 year.

ForKids Holiday Toy Drive: Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the November Post meeting at the Westin to benefit the local ForKids organization. Toys are distributed throughout our community to those in need by ForKids. Previous years the SAME HR Post has demonstrated very strong community support through our annual toy drive and we anticipate 2021 to be stronger than ever. Gifts of any type are needed, regardless of age, gender, etc.

Voluntary Covid-19 Vaccination Encouragement

The Society of American Military Engineers, Hampton Roads Post, is returning to in-person monthly meetings, forums and sessions and is encouraging voluntary Covid-19 vaccination of all members who seek to participate in these in-person events. In accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia and United States CDC guidelines, SAME seeks to provide and maintain a gathering place and workplace that is free of known hazards and the Hampton Roads Board strongly encourages all members and guests to receive this vaccination to minimize the risk of this infectious disease, especially in light of the new Delta and Lambda variants. This encouragement is in concert with recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Commonwealth of Virginia Covid-19 Task Force and with local Hampton Roads health officials. Members and guests are encouraged to obtain any Covid vaccination wherever they choose.
