Workshop: Planning for Planned Giving

Presented by: Eric Litwiller, Director of Development and Communications, Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas

Eric fell into planned giving when he moved to Kansas in late 2010, and immediately fell in love with the particulars and complexity of this specialized niche of fund development.  It is a role he has filled with a retirement community in McPherson, a three-state church-affiliated foundation in Newton, a private faith-based university in Wichita, and in his current position of four years with the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas.

Attend this workshop and learn:

  1. The benefit to donors of doing planned giving
  2. Accepting non-cash assets
  3. Identifying good candidates for planned gifts
  4. Fitting planned giving into an already full development or administrative schedule
  5. Writing gift acceptance and gift recognition policies in the context of planned giving
  6. How to create your own plan for planned giving

Eric will also provide some in-class interactive consultation on developing a plan for an attending organization so that you can learn the steps of putting a plan together.

Members - $119 | Non-Members - $149
