Kickoff to Kindness Week

featuring keynote presentation by New York Times Best-Selling Author and Yoga & Meditation Instructor

Susan Verde


Help us get ready to kick off Kindness Week with an afternoon of fun and inspiration. Susan Verde’s children’s books include her “I am” series, illustrated by Peter H Reynolds, focus on the elements of social emotional learning commonly integrated into education curriculum for children. This event is an opportunity to extend the social emotional learning to all community members! This event is FREE and for ALL AGES!

Keynote Presentation:

New York Times bestselling author and yoga and mindfulness instructor, Susan Verde will be kicking off our annual Kindness Week with an exploration of empathy and community. She will be sharing the importance of cultivating connection and compassion in our challenging world and will include a reading of one of her books as well as a loving-kindness meditation to have us feeling inspired to “Be the 'I' in KIND".

Westborough High School auditorium doors open at 1pm and our keynote presentation will begin promptly at 1:15pm.

Virtual viewing option available via Westborough TV cable and YouTube channels for those unable to attend in person.

Language and ASL interpretation available for in-person attendance (with pre-registration; must register by November 8th). Please email westboroughconnects@gmail.com if you require interpretation for the keynote presentation.

The keynote presentation is co-sponsored by Westborough Public Schools, Westborough Public Library and Westborough Connects.

"Drop-in" Community-Building Activities: 2:30- 4pm

After the presentation, join fellow community members for a variety of kindness-themed activities, including: Catch with a Cop; Knitting with Neighbors; Kindness Cards; Be the "I" in Kind; Kindness-themed Mobile Library; Intergenerational reading circle; pop-up Turquoise Table; Make-your-own seed ball; Drumhead Dave's drumming circle experience and much more!

Activities hosted by several Partners in Kindness: Westborough Women's Club, Little Free Pantry of Westborough, Best Buddies, Westborough Public Library, Westborough Public Schools, Westborough Police Department, Hygge House Books, Rotary Club of Westborough, Realtor Stephanie Stuchlik, SPARK Kindness and Westborough Connects.

PLUS: Don't forget to drop by and pick up a "Take and Spread Kindness" Toolkit. You'll be all set for a week of amplifying the kindness in our community!

PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration for the Kickoff to Kindness Week is required for "Take and Spread Kindness" Toolkits so we know how many we need. If you plan to watch the program from home, but wish to come to Westborough High School between 2:30 and 4pm to pick up your toolkit, please register and be sure to check the box "Watching from home, but I will pick up toolkit at WHS."

Westborough Women's Club will be accepting donations of the following for the Westborough Food Pantry: soap, shampoo, conditioner, disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
