Under ABA Opinion 495: 

The ground rules under ABA Formal Ethics Opinions  495 of lawyers practicing remotely (i.e. out of the state where they are licensed and in a location where they are not licensed)

Under ABA Opinion 498: 

A virtual practice,  when a lawyer is at home or on-the-go working from a location outside the office, is permitted.  When doing so, a lawyer must adhere to their ethical duties regarding competence, confidentiality,  diligence, communication and supervision.
