Atlanta Solidarity Community Chanukah 2021

Join the Atlanta Jewish community and allies as we “Shine a Light on Antisemitism” on Wed., Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at The Temple and online as part of the Atlanta Solidarity Community Chanukah as we create a vision of fighting back the hatred underlying antisemitism and racism through the light of shared hope and standing together. This intergenerational, interfaith gathering will feature ADL, the AJC Black/Jewish Coalition, local rabbis, elected officials, musical guests and a menorah lighting. All participants for in-person attendance need to be registered. The program will be followed by a young adult social hour hosted by the Philos Project.

This week-long campaign, which includes "Shine the Light on Antisemitism" event at the MJCCA on Dec. 5, is an invitation to you to share the light and love and acceptance of the Jewish people and celebrate our linked humanity. The Dec. 5th event logo above is clickable link to that program that explores communal and indivudal responses to antisemitism in all its modern forms.

Standing Together to Fight Hatred

We will be gathering in person and online at The Temple, the lcoation of a bombing in 1958 by men who were driven by that special Southern blend of hatred toward people of the Jewish and Black communities. They were particularly unhappyat the Temple's audacity in supporting Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement. On Dec. 1st, the fourth night of Chanukah, we will pick up the mantle of fighting those age-old hatreds with the power of our collective voice calling for hope, awareness and advocacy as we light the Menorah and celebrate the joys of the season.
