Forest Therapy at Sidney Conservation Area

Join Quinte Conservation and a certified guide from Rewild Wellness for a forest therapy session at Sidney Conservation Area. This event is made possible through a grant from Bay of Quinte Tourism.

WHAT TO EXPECT: A leisurely walk of about a km on some of the trails with stops along the way where you will gather and sit. You will focus on your senses to develop an immediate connection with the forest. This is a very relaxed, slow, and mindful way of walking. The walk should last between 2 and 3 hours. Please check the weather forecast so you are prepared and see the suggestions below for different types of weather.

This event is outdoors. You may be sitting/standing for prolonged periods. Please read the following information:

What to bring - Please bring water and perhaps a snack. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes/boots for walking on easy terrain. These walks move at a very slow pace. Bring anything else you may want to be comfortable outdoors and possibly sitting on the ground.

Rainy weather - The walk will still be on if it's raining unless it is a storm or prolonged downpour. If it is raining it's important to have a waterproof shell including pants, and many people bring umbrellas also.  Rain often enhances sensory experience and makes for some of our most memorable walks. Please wear comfortable clothing and dress in layers to stay warm and dry.

Suitable for Ages 13 and over - must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost to participate is $10 per person. There will be a $5 parking fee unless you are an annual pass holder. This can be paid through Pay By Phone by following the instructions posted on site or through the information provided on the parking page on our website

Please note COVID-19 protocols, if you are presenting any of the signs or symptoms of COVID, or was in close contact with someone who tested positive in the last 14 days, we kindly ask you to remain home.
