Harm Reduction with National Expert Monique Tula

Join Interact for Health for a webinar to learn more about harm reduction with the Executive Director of the National Harm Reduction Coalition. Monique Tula has devoted her career to lifting the voices of people pushed into society’s margins by capitalism and racial inequity. 

This webinar will cover:

  • the history of harm reduction.
  • the evolution of the harm reduction movement.
  • the stigma of harm reduction.
  • the intersection of harm reduction and health equity.

A 30 minute Q&A session will follow the 60 minute presentation.

This event is intended for all people working or interested in the field of harm reduction in Interact for Health’s 20 county service area and beyond.

Presenter:

Monique Tula is the Executive Director of National Harm Reduction Coalition, a national advocacy and capacity-building organization that promotes the health and dignity of people affected by drug use. Previously, she was the Vice President of Programs with AIDS United, where she oversaw the grantmaking and technical assistance portfolios. With more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Tula has devoted her career to harm reduction advocacy and infrastructure development of community-based organizations.Tula is a skilled trainer, having taught program evaluation courses at the University of Massachusetts in Boston and facilitated numerous organizational development trainings for community based organizations throughout the United States. Tula holds a degree in community planning with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of Massachusetts and a master's certificate in nonprofit leadership and management from Boston University’s School of Management.
