ASAP Special Appeal for Support

ASAP Needs Your Help

Because of the emergency regulations regarding social gatherings, ASAP had to cancel or postpone a number of conferences, experienced a decline in applications to our New York Certification Board for recovery coach and recovery peer advocate certifications, and had a decrease in income from other activities. To address ASAP’s economic challenges; while we continue to support prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery programs; we ask that you make a generous donation to the ASAP Special Appeal for Support. Please see the attached document outlining donation opportunities.
The ASAP Special Appeal for Support provides an excellent opportunity for our corporate and business partners and other supporters to acknowledge the heroic work being done in the field, remember people from our field and people we served who lost their lives during the pandemic, and celebrate the return to health of all those in the field and their loved ones who personally experienced COVID-19 related illness.

Please Help Us Continue Our Important Work

Every day since the Governor announced emergency measures to address the COVID-19 crisis, ASAP has been working with prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery programs to provide information and support as they heroically help others deal with the pandemic. Since the start of COVID-19, we have been holding daily meetings, attended by an average of 125 provider agency leaders from across New York on weekdays and 30 on weekends, for program staff to discuss their needs and challenges during the emergency. Calls have been specialized to meet specific needs. In addition to COVID-19 related issues, on Mondays our calls focus on regulatory and policy related issues, Tuesdays on medical and clinical issues, Wednesdays on business concerns, and Fridays on prevention. ASAP created a Coronavirus web page, which we update regularly and pack with vital information, and a quick response communication device (CoronaHelpLine@asapnys.org) for programs with pressing questions or information they want to share with the field. When people were in need, ASAP met that need with a meaningful response. We did all of this work because we care and feel a deep sense of responsibility to do what we can to help. In doing this work, ASAP absorbed the full cost and now we ask for your help to fund this vital work.

With deep appreciation for our corporate and business partners and all who have benefited from and supported our work, we humbly request your generous response to the ASAP Appeal for Support.
