Pastoral Crisis Intervention I

This original 2-day course (previously known as Pastoral Crisis Intervention) introduces the concept of Pastoral Crisis Intervention as the combination of faith-based resources with traditional techniques of crisis intervention. Participants will learn how pastoral interventions and traditional psychological crisis interventions may be effectively integrated.

  • Signs and symptoms of the crisis state
  • The “crisis of faith”
  • Criteria for psychological triage
  • Strategic SAFER-PCI Model

Pastoral Crisis Intervention II

This original 2-day course builds on the foundation of ICISF’s Pastoral Crisis Intervention I with more advanced concepts and field applications. Prerequisite: Pastoral Crisis Intervention II. If you have not taken this prerequisite, ICISF’s 3-day Pastoral Crisis Intervention Course is recommended.

  • Risks and potential adverse reactions
  • Advance topics in assessment
  • Principals of basic spiritual first aid
  • PCI with those expressing theodolitic concerns
  • The incident management system (IMS)
  • PCI with those expressing suicidal ideation
  • PCI with those in acute bereavement
  • Principles of death notification
  • Principles and practices associated with self-care

Note:  You must attend all 3 days to get your certiicate of completion and you must have your video on at all times per ICISF criteria.
