This class (formerly titled Human Rights Advocate) prepares participants to be effective Human Rights advocates for people they support. It is required for those who will be taking on the role of Human Rights Officer. Topics covered include the structures and policies within DDS to provide safeguards for the rights of people who receive services and supports, the role and responsibilities of the Human Rights Officer and the resources available to the HRO in carrying out their responsibilities.
Please note: the Office of Human Rights strongly suggests attendees first attend a Basic Human Rights training.
Please limit registration to four people per agency. By chance, should more than four people be registered from the same agency, we may need to cancel those exceeding four. We will make this decision based on the time stamp of the registration entry. To schedule a training for your agency, please contact Patricia Carney at patricia.carney@mass.gov
Thank you for joining us for this great training opportunity!
