Cook the Harvest at Hope Farms 
with Chef Carlos

Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. This fall Hope Farms is offering three Cook the Harvest classes to sharpen your skills. In our classes you'll work together in a fun, hands-on environment led by Chef Carlos. 

UPDATED HEALTH PROTOCOL: With the rise in Omicron variant, we are requiring masks onsite for all guests and require all participants to provide documentation of COVID19 rapid antigen test administered within 12 hours prior showing a negative result at check-in. This applies to all guests, vaccinated or not. We encourage at home tests!

Saturday, February 12: In Love with Pasta

Pasta is the language of love. Learn how to make delicate and enticing pasta dishes with fresh made dough. Simple, delicious and versatile, this staple is always an amazing way to say I love you on any weeknight and lets you run wild with whatever else you have in the fridge. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals to rolling fresh pasta dough along with tips for cutting and storing noodles. Next, we cover the basics to making a seasonal pesto that makes the most of whatever is growing in the garden. Last, we will tackle how to prepare ravioli that are perfect for eating right away or storing in the freezer for a quick meal anytime and then enjoy everything at our romantic farm setting.

Saturday, March 5: Flavors of Southeast Asia

This diverse and bold flavors of Southeast Asia bring forward some of the most appreciated dishes from around the world. In this class we’ll show you how surprisingly easy they are to create at home using farm fresh vegetables and a staple pantry. With a special focus on seasoning, we’ll stop by four different countries on our Southeast Asian cooking tour, and teach you how to balance the sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavors that are the staples of these beautiful cuisines.

Saturday, April 9: Pizza Dough Party 

Get ready to ditch delivery and pizza boxes that can’t be recycled! Making pizza with seasonal ingredients at home is one of the greatest joys in any kitchen and an amazing way to be sure you use everything in your fridge. Along with the basics of making, shaping and storing dough, our chef will walk you through how to make basic sauces that you can keep on hand so every night you can have your own pizza party with the tastiest ingredients of the season.

 Saturday, May 14: Gnocchi Workshop

Done right, these pillow-soft dumplings melt in your mouth and vanish off the plate. You’ll learn  two dough recipes along with two basic sauces and all the techniques you need to ditch gluey pre-packaged gnocchi for good. These recipes are so easy to make you’ll want to have gnocchi with just about everything.
