IIBEC SOC RRO Preparation Webinar

Those who want to become a Registered Roof Observer must fulfill certain requirements. These requirements include completion of an application, agreement to abide by the IIBEC Code of Ethics, and earning a satisfactory score on an online examination.

This webinar is designed to help with:

• Focus on test preparation materials and resources with attention to general exam sections & objectives
• Review of the RRO Handbook
• Study topics
• How to complete the RRO application and registration process

Shawn Irani and John Mills are both RROs for over 10 years each.  They will guide attendees through the process.

Shawn Irani, TSS Building Science Inc., Project Manager B.A.T., C.E.T., RRO 

Shawn has been a member of the IIBEC (Formally RCI) since 2008 and has received the designation of Registered Roof Observer (RRO) in 2012.  Shawn has been a participating member in the IIBEC board since 2017 and is currently part of two IIBEC committees, the Advocacy Committee on the Ontario Chapter as well as the Immerging Professionals Committee of IIBEC.  Shawn held the position of President of the IIBEC Ontario Chapter in 2019 and is continuing to commit to participating and working with the board of IIBEC Ontario chapter to further improve the Chapters goals and achievements. Shawn is also a Certified Engineering Technologist (C. E. T.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) which is a is a non-profit, self-governing, professional association.

John Mills, Sika Canada, Roofing Development Manager

John is the Roofing Development Manager for Sika Canada. He has worked in the Roofing industry for 38 years, starting in contracting in the UK, then joining Sarnafil UK working as Applications Manager for 11 years. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Roofing (UK), Industry Director of IIBEC Ontario Chapter, Registered Roof Observer, Green Roof Professional and is a voting member on the Canadian Commission for Construction Material Evaluation. He has been employed by various manufacturers’ in Canada for 13 years and has completed many courses relating to North American roofing issues.
