Shelter Advocate Toolkit

Tuesday, April 26, 2022

9:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m. (EST)

Advocates in domestic violence shelters and residential programs need different tools and skills than advocates working in legal or community settings. This training is specifically designed for those advocates who serve survivors in shelters and residential settings.

Participants will learn how to navigate the unique concerns related to shelter and 24-hour hotlines, including excellence in customer service, boundaries, confidentiality, de-escalation, and partnering with parent youth intake. Whether you are a new advocate in a domestic violence shelter or want to refresh your knowledge and skills as a seasoned advocate, join us for this practice and interactive training session.
