Stress and The Pandemic

Stress is a very normal part of life – it helps to keep us alive and alert and can also help us learn and grow as long as it’s mild, manageable and short-term.

When stress becomes chronic and toxic however, there are significant risks that may impact your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. The whole world faced an unexpected stressor in 2020, COVID-19, which left chaos, confusion, and devastation in its wake. Understanding its impact, on both adults and children, is the first step to addressing and buffering the consequences.

Join us as we review the science behind stress, bring awareness to the signs and symptoms, explore the impact the pandemic may have had and identify adaptive ways to cope with stress as well as techniques to integrate into daily life to buffer it.

If you are a childcare provider with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County, PBSD employee, or a parent/caregiver living in Palm Beach County, contact us for a special code to waive the training fee. Students and Palm Beach County partners can contact us for a significant discount.

In this training, you will learn about:

  • The types of stress.
  • The impact of stress on children and adults.
  • Three ways to cope with stress and help children cope with stress.

Thank You
