Beyond BOW - Ancient Technology

Escape for a weekend and learn ancient skills! Disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. This weekend will focus on learning to master flint knapping, atlatl, fire by friction with a bow drill, and weaving pine needle baskets. Naturalists from Iowa DNR, Shelby County Conservation and Louisa County Conservation will be hosting the event.

The weekend will be hosted at Sherburne House at Springbrook State Park. This cabin is nestled in a 10-acre wooded area on the park's west side, with a scenic overlook and great opportunitties to view wildlife. The cabin has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living rooms and a full service kitchen. Communal lodging is provided.

Weekend event with lodging - $120
Weekend event, no lodging - $80
Saturday only, no lodging - $50
