This workshop will provide clinicians with an in-depth look at the brain-gut connection. Further, it will inform attendees on why this phenomenon is critical to the way we practice, including its relationship to assessment and treatment interventions. The effects of trauma on the nervous system and the functionality of the gut and pathways to the brain will be discussed.

She has dedicated her career to the field of mental health and specializes in the treatment of teens and emerging adults. She describes herself as a brain based, trauma, and wellness psychotherapist. She is a cis gender Latina and natural born empath. She owns a group therapy practice, The Therapy Institute and is the voice behind the podcast, A Therapists Tales. She utilizes her own intuition, her nervous system, and evidence-based trainings to guide her clients towards healing.
