HONORING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Come celebrate and honor Black History Month with the North Suburban YMCA. Black History Month is a federally recognized celebration during the month of February, which recognizes the impact African Americans have had and the contributions they have made in the United States.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
The DEI committee is collective of NSYMCA staff and board members helping bring to life our mission of equity for all.

 Our conversation will focus on:

  • Showcase African American contributions through the history of the YMCA
    Recognize historical past that YMCA was not immune to racial segregation in its onset
    Discuss how African Americans helped move the YMCA to be more inclusive
