About Joanne Evans

Joanne Evans, MEd, RN, PMHCNS-BC, has been a nurse for over 50 years and had experience as a clinician, administrator, author, researcher, and educator before retiring from a leadership position at the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has published on plant-based nutrition in the Journal of Holistic Nursing, the American Journal of Nursing, and the Journal of American Association of Nurse Practitioners and has also authored two books including Cultivating Seeds of Health with Plant-based Nutrition - Nurses Share Their Educational Approaches to Prevent and Reverse Chronic Disease and also Redefining Retirement for Nurses published by Sigma Theta Tau.

Overcoming Adversity Through Health and Wellness

"Resiliency, Health, and Well-Being" is a series of quarterly programs offered by the Pi at-Large Chapter of Sigma at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and the Nu Beta at-Large Chapter of Sigma at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing to foster well-being and resiliency in nurses, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team of health care providers. 

The event in the series, “Overcoming Adversity Through Health and Wellness,” will be presented virtually by Joanne Evans, MEd, RN, PMHCNS-BC.
