"The mistake most of us make in our crucial conversations is we believe that we have to choose between telling the truth and keeping a friend."
—Kerry Patterson, Crucial Conversations
The overarching theme for Lumunos this year is "Loving Our Neighbors." Part of loving our neighbors is figuring out how to navigate the kind of conversations that can make or break a relationship. Sometimes it's hard to be both honest and kind.
In this month's Zoom call, we'll explore how to navigate these "crucial conversations"—discussions where stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. How we handle the crucial conversations of our lives makes a big difference in our ability to love our "neighbors," no matter how broadly we define the term. Crucial conversations can be with our closest family members and friends, as well as coworkers, actual neighbors, or even strangers we meet on the street.
