This training is available through the School Age Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center in partnership w/the Regional Partnership Center (RPC).
Family Engagement in the Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)/Behavioral Intervention Plan Process (BIP)
Parents, families, guardians, and others in the community will gain an understanding of:
- the definition of an FBA/BIP;
- when one or both are needed;
- how an FBA is conducted and a BIP is developed; and
- the role they play as part of the various teams.
Participants will also understand how the FBA/BIP process is part of the Committee for Preschool Special Education (CPSE)/Committee for Special Education (CSE) process, as well as the guidance regarding the New York State (NYS) Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, Part 200.
