Empower Yourself - Webinar (06/07/22)

While serving our communities, our goal is to think of ways we can help others grow as individuals and become stronger.

But we don’t always have time to think about improving ourselves so that we can be at our best both personally and professionally. We have to be willing to give ourselves permission to grow – and allow ourselves to “talk back” when those negative voices in our minds (or from somewhere else!) tell us it’s not worth the effort.

We do our best to help our patrons empower themselves through knowledge and new learning experiences, but let’s not forget that we need that same kind of deep-seated willingness to learn and grow – and sometimes step out of our comfort zones. Forgetting our own needs can make us less effective in our jobs, which makes us less effective at taking care of ourselves, which makes us…you get the picture!

It's time we nudge, encourage, and cheer ourselves on in stretching to be our best selves – now that’s empowering!

Virtual Trainer: Linda Bruno

Linda has been developing and conducting training workshops for libraries and other organizations for more than fifteen years. She offers workshops on topics ranging from Leadership Skills to Emotional Intelligence – and lots of areas in between!

Linda received her MBA from the University of Florida and has years of experience in hands-on management positions. She develops her workshops based on solid research and – more importantly – real-life application. Linda is also certified with DDI and Achieve Global.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
