TheRetreat 2022

Registration is now open for our 75th annual TheRetreat, America's first and oldest weekend get-away for Jewish men, to be held at Camp Ramah in Palmer MA on June 9-12, 2022. Jewish Men together Again!

Our annual long weekend at TheRetreat up can be summed up in three words:   FUN SPIRIT * LEARNING. Please join us for a long weekend of learning with outstanding speakers, lay-led worship, sports and camaraderie. Come and make this longstanding tradition your own.

This year the weekend will feature Jewish Jeopardy, created and hosted by David Rozenson, a real Jeopardy champion. There will be sports, Hearing Men's Voices, sports, a campfire, speakers and a variety of options for services. We will be honoring the 2020 and 2021 Keepers of the Flame. There will be deluxe housing options in addition to the Guest House (contact Richard Gray at rwgray1@gmail.com for more information and to sign up). Finally there will be enhanced food in celebration of our 75th anniversary.

Our guest Scholar-in-Residence for 2022 will be Rabbi Jeffrey A. Summit, Research Professor of Music and Judaic Studies at Tufts University, Emeritus Hillel Executive Director and Jewish Chaplain at Tufts, terrific guitar player and GRAMMY Award Nominee. Come to the Retreat to hear and learn from a Rabbi, Professor, scholar, ethnomusicologist and great mensch, as he presents his unique and interactive talks.

Our second speaker is Rabbi James Rosen. He has been the Rabbi of Beth El Temple in West Hartford, Connecticut since 1992. Rabbi Rosen has written extensively in the areas of Disability and Judaism, Conversion, and contemporary interpretation of Classic texts. His interests include the Mussar (ethics) tradition in Jewish life, psychology, modern day Israel and the development of alternative models to Jewish growth.
