Spring Awards Banquet 2022

Please make plans to join us for the Huntsville Council of PTAs Spring Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Burritt on the Mountain's Baron Bluff.  You'll want to arrive early to enjoy appetizers and Grissom High School's Jazz Band on the back porch beginning at 5:45 p.m.

This evening will be a wonderful time to celebrate some of the fantastic people and programs in our schools.  We will honor a number of award recipients, including:

  • Administrators of the Year
  • Teachers of the Year
  • Support Staff of the Year
  • Volunteers of the Year
  • High School Scholarship Winners
  • Grant winners from our local PTA units
  • PTA Memberships
  • Local PTA units who have excelled in their mission to promote the national standards of PTA
  • 2023-2024 National PTA Reflections Theme Search Winner
  • PTA Schools of Excellence

Our guest speaker for the evening will be Erica Hopkins. Dr. Hopkins is the K-12 STEM and Workforce Development Lead for Northrop Grumman and the Corporate Citizenship Representative for Alabama.  As the K-12 STEM and Workforce Development Lead, she works with leaders across the company to help accelerate the mission and strategic focus on K-12 STEM educational programming, outreach and workforce development initiatives.  As the Corporate Citizen Representative, she consults with Northrop Grumman executives to establish a corporate citizenship strategy, develop and execute charitable giving budget plans as well as employee engagement activities that align with the company’s focus on STEM, Military/Veterans, Health and Humans Services and the Environment. 

Dr. Hopkins has worked at Northrop Grumman for 17 years.  She earned her undergraduate and graduate degree in Public Policy from California State University Dominguez Hills and completed her PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University.

The cost for the banquet is $30 per person.  If your PTA woud like to reserve a group table, you must send a separate email with names and school to Courtney Zarrilli at programs@huntsvillepta.org no later than Friday, April 15.  This is for headcount ONLY.  Everyone must register individually below.
