Creating Spaces for Children: May 21

How can we best nurture our children and youth in this time? What gifts do our children and youth bring to this space we now inhabit?

Join others for conversation, learning, and visioning about how we support our youngest as full members of the church. Our leader for this day, the Rev. Anne E. Kitch, is a highly recognized specialist in the faith formation of children. She offers her insight across the church and as a leadership consultant, retreat leader, and author.

Registration is $15 per person and includes lunch.

Substitutions may be made after the registration date.

We will begin our time together with worship and then explore the relationships we have (or desire to have) with children in the church. We’ll navigate the landscape of worship, ministry beyond Sunday school, and other programs for children and youth. Small groups will meet in the afternoon on topics such as intergenerational worship, Godly Play, and hands-on experiences that invite all to live more fully into our Baptismal Covenant.

This program is being offered in response to requests across our Diocesan Partnership in our regional gatherings last winter.

The Rev. Anne Kitch currently serves as the rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Phillipsburg, NJ, and is a member of the church-wide Executive Council. The author of numerous books on spirituality and faith formation including Expectant: Advent Meditations and Taking the Plunge: Baptism and Parenting, Anne blogs at Stumbling into The Sacred http://sacredstumbling.blogspot.com/.
