What Did You Just Say? Insights into What the New Generation Says Online

Presented by: Dr. Joe Smyser, CEO, Public Good Projects; Chelsea Stack, Youth Prevention Manager, RWJBarnabas Health Institute for Prevention and Recovery; and Kylie Elimanco, Prevention Specialist, RWJBarnabas Health Institute for Prevention and Recovery

Have you seen choreographed dances or heard, “I saw that on TikTok” and wondered what that’s all about? With TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter at everyone’s fingertips and young adults flocking to these platforms, it’s more important than ever to speak Gen Z’s language. Join RWJB and The Public Good Projects for a two-part presentation exploring Gen Z’s social media consumption and how to create powerful tailored messages that uplift your existing prevention efforts. This training will focus on what makes Gen Z unique from past generations and how social media affects their daily lives. By understanding how to engage with a younger audience, you can foster new connections and allow a space for social-emotional support. Learn how to utilize social media to relay your messaging with a targeted approach to reach young people using the language they know.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and 2 CEUs from the New Jersey Department of Education and The Certification Board.
