PowerPoint can do a huge variety of things, and this hands-on workshop covers several different roles this versatile tool can play.

You may know it best as a powerful presentation tool, but there is so much more you can do with it:

You can make a slide any size you like, which makes PowerPoint an easy option for making posters, digital-screens or images for websites and social media once you know how.
We'll discuss PowerPoint as video-maker - it is surprisingly easy to make videos in a variety of styles, either using PowerPoint with other tools or even completely on its own.
And we'll cover how to create impactful presentations that work for your audience, and look at creating PowerPoints in a variety of styles. We'll discuss images, fonts, accessibility and the golden rules for creating presentations.

It is recommended that participants have PowerPoint on a laptop or PC for this workshop.

Virtual Trainer: Ned Potter

Ned Potter is an Academic Liaison Librarian and a Trainer who has run library workshops across four continents. He is a specialist in PowerPoint and his own presentations have been seen over 2.5 million times online. His book, The Library Marketing Toolkit was published by Facet Publishing in 2012, and he can be found online at ned-potter.com.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.
