Mike and Susan Fredrickson (assisted by Carole Wilder) are volunteers partnering with Bethany’s Gait in creating opportunities for our fellow equine enthusiasts.  Our goal is to create an enjoyable environment where we challenge ourselves and our horses to advance our skills while enjoying the friendship and camaraderie of other riders.  The upside of this is that 100% of  proceeds go directly to benefit a fantastic 501(c)(3) charity – Bethany’s Gait - to support their programs.

Bethany's Gait is dedicated to "Rescuing Horses, Restoring Lives".  The programs offered by Bethany'sGait were created specifically for active duty, reserve and veteran military personnel, first responders and their families.  One of the things that makes the program unique is that Bethany's Gait is also a horse rescue.  They have found that bringing the rescue horses together with the people offers a dynamic situation where horses and humans heal through a bond that is developed based on unconditional love, unwavering trust and a keen understanding of what the other has been through.  Bethany's Gait is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ranch in Prescott, AZ.

Patterson Ranch, a beautiful working horse ranch, in Star Valley, Arizona is one of the most favorite scenic rides!  You will wander through the ponderosa pines, junipers, oaks and willows as you ride on wide decomposed granite trails with minimal rocks on well-marked trails crossing over serval small creeks and passing through the Ranch.  This ride is rated easy to light moderate.  Trails are 98% rock free – however, shoes and boots are recommended.

FOOD:   Lunches available for purchase - sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, baked goods, fruit --   12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.   Fundraiser for new obstacles for the Patterson Ranch Obstacle Arena and Youth Program.

BLIND TEAM JACKPOT - JOIN THE FUN - SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

Here is how this will work.  $10.00 entry fee.  We will randomly group up to 3-4-5 riders to make a "team".  During the competition, you will NOT KNOW know who your team members are.  After the ride awards, we will announce team members and team scores and award the jackpot.  Sign up at registration table on day of ride.  All teams will have the same number of riders.  We will add the score of all team members together to create a team score - high team score wins the jackpot!!!

DIRECTIONS:  272 Sprague Road, Payson, AZ  85541.    Turn east at McDonalds.  Take Hwy. 260 east about 4 miles to Star Valley.  Just past the Circle K on the left, you will see a large plastic bull near a restaurant/bar.  Turn right just BEFORE THE BULL/STEER on to Moonlight Drive.  Go south on Moonlight through the neighborhod, do not turn off of it in the neighborhood, just stay following the line down the middle of the road (at times the road will say Rainbow, as it curves, just ignore).  About 1 mile you will get out of the neighborhood, still on Moonlight and you will cross a cattle guard.  Shortly after this you will look for a sharp left, Sprague Road, follow signs.  Turn left, go down through wash/creek and up other side, keep going straight to the end.  You will turn right into the Ranch.

GREAT ROUTE TO AVOID GOING THROUGH CENTRAL PHOENIX, I-10 AND I-17:

Coming from south of Phoenix:  Use the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway West.  Get off  I-10 at the Loop 202 San Tan Freeway and go west.  You will exit the Loop 202 at I-10 and approximately 59th Avenue.  Go west to 303 North which will take you to the I-17 north.

Coming from north of Phoenix: On I-17 take the 303 Loop west and south to I-10.  Turn east on I-10.  Get off at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway exit at approximately 59th Avenue if you want to continue south toward Tucson.
